Privacy
Chronicle is a static site with no accounts. Your preferences stay in your browser.
Where data goes
Your browser
Theme, reader mode and reading position are kept in local storage. They are never sent to a Chronicle server.
A service worker caches pages and feeds for offline reading; a cached edition keeps its original time. Clear site data to remove all of it.
Third parties
The homepage counts page views with GoatCounter (gc.zgo.at, chronicle.goatcounter.com). Article images load from their publishers, without a referrer.
Both see network details such as your IP address. Fonts and app files are self-hosted. External links follow the publisher’s own policies.
The builder
The scheduled builder sends public titles and descriptions to classification providers, and public article URLs to Jina Reader.
It never sees your reading preferences.
Questions and reports filed on GitHub follow GitHub’s privacy settings and may be public.
